!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
But goddamn if it doesn’t look amazing. I’ve wanted an Mk2 (II?) for some time. I wonder what the mystery deal-breaker for this bad boy is...

Automatic+Red velour would be the dealbreaker for me personally. But save it before the ricers get to it!

It's a sign you should buy it.

Yeah, if I wanted an automatic Supra I would just wait for a nice SC400 to pop up. I’m not sure I could stomach owning another automatic. Great when sitting in traffic on the company dime, but not for recreation.

If he wants $1k cash, plus 3 cliff bars and a case of beer, I’ll take it

A black one of these was my first introduction to a sports car. My friends dad had it back in the 80s.

That interior is 80s as fuck.

Dat transmission though....

That’s why it’s so cool!

That’s about how I feel about it. Fine for traffic, but a little bit boring when you aren’t in traffic.

The one I’m holding out for is an 84-86.

Plus every car my wife will own until we die will be automatic. Thus, it is I, me, Dr. Zoidberg, who must keep the manual dream alive. My brother and I are the only two people in our family that own manuals.

Force wife to drive manual! Then you have a solution.

Nah. She is the ying to my yang.

Haha, great way of putting it.

My L-type was originally beige all over.
Too bad about the auto. I couldn’t see an auto Mk2 being any fun at all.

Probably people are too lazy to fill out the two one page forms and deal with customs to get it registered in WA.

This also looks like an L (luxury)-type, which doesn’t have the fender flares or an LSD, unlike the P-type (performance).

It’s an L-trim version, (luxury), rather than P-trim (performance), which is evident by the lack of fender flares, and smaller wheels. The automatic is also less attractive to a classic performance car buyer.
I am partial to Mark III Supras, but a good Mark II is a nice car.
And probably more approachable and supportable than a Bitter SC, as well as more practical with the rear hatch.
The P-type A60 Supra is probably higher demand than a brown 2-tone L-type, though.
